Dear Member
Your Arts Society Westminster Committee welcomes you to our 2022/2023 season. You will have received the programme leaflet and membership card which show the full details of our new programme.
The first four lectures, from September to December 2022, will be in our usual venue, the National Gallery, Sainsbury Wing Lecture Theatre. However due to the National Gallery’s plans to refurbish the Sainsbury Wing from January 2023, we are moving to the Royal Over-
Some members recently attended our very successful Study Day, which was held at the Royal Over-
Please note that lectures now start at 2.30pm.
The programme of lectures, yet again, caters for a wide variety of interests. Having seen the 2014 film ‘Mr Turner’, I am delighted that the season starts with an opportunity to reacquaint myself with J M W Turner and his works. Bilbao and the Guggenheim have long been on my bucket list, so the November lecture will be of special interest. I always find our December lecture, usually on a Christmas theme, particularly moving and the one this year looks very promising. Bruegel’s works which are featured in the February lecture, are content rich and endlessly fascinating. As the season draws to a close Mantegna and Bellini will be a special treat.
We also have a very interesting selection of Visits. The visit to the Royal College of Music looks a must. Frances Pryer will be organising some more Study Days, so watch this space.
Thank you for supporting us, we hope you enjoy the 2022/2023 season and don’t forget to use your two free guest passes.
With very best wishes and kind regards
